Thats a good question, let’s says if you are someone curious, patient, and calm by nature, the chances to get attacked randomly or arm are close to zero. Of course like anywhere else you have to keep an eye on your personals belongings, but nothing to compare with the strange mood oppressing western cities like Paris or New York.
Cambodia is one of the rare place i did visit i consider very safe.
These is a question of perception, of habits and your vision on these point might change with time. Let’s says if you just arrived from London, or Hong Kong its extraordinary cheap. If you are re-locating from Thailand it might appears to you a little expensive, for years the main problem was a very limited offer, and products were not that good, the service close t zero. Since 2011 the city had evolved, and there is no doubt than Cambodia will be very similar to Bangkok in term of pricing.
